I'm going to have to agree with what the Grimms called this tale. The tailor is more stupid than brave and the people around him are just as dumb. This anecdote is meant to teach not to assume things. Without finding out the real truth one may think a man killed seven humans when in fact it was flies. From not knowing the actual story irrational decisions are made and one can lose half his kingdom. The tailor is either brainless or he has an amazing sense of solve riddles. He attacks two giants, he plays with a unicorn, and he goes up against a boar. Either risking his life for half a kingdom is more important than his life or he just did these things for fun. He does have an answer for everything , allowing him to outsmart everyone and tricking his way to the top; I must | |
There are many versions to this Grimm tale. Even Mickey Mouse has a starring role. One can chose to tell the story in many ways. The version featured above takes a different artistic approach. The image are somewhat abstract and barely make sense. There's even a giant fly featured.
The tale begins with a golden apple instead of a giant. The first glimpse we get of a giant is when the tailor kills two of them for the king. Overall this rendition makes itself unique and stands out through its artwork.
